In 2008, poppers Robert "Mr. Fantastic" Muraine and Phillip "Pacman" Chbeeb auditioned throughout season 4 of the US SYTYCD collection. Neither made it to the final "Top 20", yet the judges were so impressed with their dancing that both were invited back to join a popping battle against each various other on the show's real-time finale. According to Muraine, this was the first popping battle that was country wide telecasted.
